Win Win Win
09th June 2010
Dear All
Another great evening for the 45 road club at the NCRA round 2 Middleton.
Alan West took an impressive win out sprinting the bunch on a draggy uphill finish. Still accelerating on the line Cav style, Alan was a clear winner. Congratulations to him who now is clear in front points wise to retain his series win from last year. Lets hope the handicapper is not to harsh for the next rounds.
Simon and Martin did a sterling job keeping the bunch moving through at a good pace to hold off the chasing scratch group which contained Tom Kruger. Martin pulled the bunch along the last 5km at such a pace that any attacks failed as soon as they poked their nose out into the wind. Strong lad indeed!
Tom again suffered from the scratch group, containing mainly one team, not working together and so was about a minute down on the line. Ian worked hard to stay with the bunch but I didn't notice where he finished.
All this on a wet road with grit and sun glare from wet glasses meant an exciting race but thankfully all got home safe.
Next week Sawtry on Thursday.
Don't forget the Tour series is a Kettering this week. Race starts at 7.00pm.
Regards
Simon
